There are over 500 miles of coastline across the five boroughs that make up New York City.  That once booming waterfront was an essential component of our city’s greatness.  As life-long New Yorkers we wanted to explore the edge of this post-industrial metropolis, in all its varying states of beauty, decay, and transformation.
From 2001 to 2005 we documented the waterfront, with a particular focus on the confluence and counterpoint of recreation and commerce, development and conservation, nature and the built environment.
