“THE GATHERING STORM” | On Earth Magazine | June, 2008The monthly publication of the Natural Resources Defense Council, assigned us to photograph the multi-faceted water crisis facing Bangladesh. It is a country comprised of a landmass that barely sits above sea-level, making it especially vulnerable to storm surges and sea level rise. Being one of the most densely populated and economically impoverished countries in the world, Bangladesh was facing the challenges of not only sea level rise, and ever-strengthening cyclones, but also floods, salinity seeping into agricultural lands, and arsenic in the well water. These were all looming threats to a country ill equipped to take on those challenges. “THE GATHERING STORM” On Earth Magazine | June, 2008ASSIGNMENTS / bangladesh
